I'm not sure how CDDB2 works, but if it can do CDDB1, a simple HTTP request to freedb.freedb.org with an e-mail address as authentication is fine... that's on port 80, natch. It may demand cddbp, in which case you'll need to make sure it can use ports 888 and 8880, with the same server address.

CDDB2 is pony, by the way. It accepts no user corrections and has some horribly wrong info on it. CDDB1 to freedb is a LOT better...
