I bought a copy of Gladiator on DVD today, from a regular high-street store... the sort of place you get the real thing, not the dodgy gun jobs etc. Now, on the packaging, it says audio comes in three flavours: English, Italian and Spanish, with subtitles to match, plus Portugese. The overlay on the disc itself is for the UK and Ireland edition (it has the BBFC classification and the Film Censor's Office one, plus the FACT logo and so on...)
So I stick it in the drive, sit through the usual autoplay guff, and then... WTF? The menu is in French. There was no mention of this having any French content!
So I hit the Audio Languages menu. Two choices: French or English. Default is French.
Something seems wrong here.
Anyone reckon it'd be worth contacting Universal and asking them what the frag's up, or should I try to take it back for a refund, or what? |
