There is a lot of genuine free content out there - and a lot of people continuing to create it.

And yes Kickstart - there are people putting spikes into free content. Files from mozilla, or sourceforge have found there way onto p2p (which will be much faster for very large files if they are multi-source) - and I have even come across a fake download that claims to be a firefox distribution.

Luckily - overnet (sorry eDonkey2k now) does however display if a file has other names. I wouldnt want to gamble how well my virus checking and ad-aware would deal with it if I had tried to run it.
