no, this is good for me by niwikki 2004-12-30 16:17:04
I don't dwell on the number, I just track it.
I have it all in an excel spreadsheet. It's set up to calculate averages, etc.

And if I don't weigh myself every morning when I wake up, I'll never remember to weigh myself at all and I'll fall back into my old habits. Besides, this way I can note whether I weigh more because I ate too much junk the previous day (and it'll be gone the next day) or because I'm slowly gaining.

For me, it's like taking a pill every night. If I have the option of a weekly pill instead, I'll still opt for the nightly pill as I'd never remember to take the weekly pill. But when I can make it part of my daily routine, I'd never forget it.

And what I've found is that my weight naturally fluctuates as much as 5 pounds daily (though 1-3 is more common). Therefore, I don't freak out if one morning I wake up weighing 5 pounds more than I did the day before. I do get amazed when my weight stays the same for multiple days on end, though, as I'm more accustomed to fluctuation.
