I'm just floored.
First, there's way, way more than a single country affected. I'm not sure which one in particular you're referring to, but the death toll is spread over many countries around the Indian Ocean.
Second, this aid money will be used primarially to provide the basic neccessities that hundreds of thousands of people require to continue living in an area where their homes have been destroyed and so many people killed that there are bloated corpses washing up on the beaches daily. It'll provide basic sanitation, medical aid, and food required to prevent the death toll from climbing to 100,000 to ten times that.
But fine, if that's your attitude, why not go off and enjoy another coffee at your local coffee shop. I'm sure it'll all sort itself out, right? |
