on a seller whose ratings are under 90% and if it's under 100%, I read what the bad feedback is, and how old it is. I don't think I've bought from a "new seller", and, as a seller, I'm leery of bidders with only 1 or 2 feedback transactions.

Ebay probably can't tell you why they cancelled the guy's account. But they should give you his contact information. That's what our freelance site does when we are having "collection problems" with clients.
