Bloody 'ell, Ebay burn by MikeCDN 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Got burned by a seller. Buying Halo 2.

Bought it, mailed payment through paypal (with money that was sitting in my account), no responce from seller about shipping, said he shipped it 6 days later. Item didn't arrive within the 30 days of avaible fraud filings with paypal, so I sent an alert on the last day. 10 more days pass no item, just got this message from paypal.
Our investigation of this complaint is now complete.

The seller did not respond to our requests for confirmation that the package was shipped to your address. Therefore, we attempted to award you a full refund. Unfortunately, there were insufficient funds available in the seller's PayPal account to complete the refund.

PayPal does not consider this a satisfactory resolution of this complaint. We have taken action against this seller's account until the complaint has been resolved.

No further action is required of you at this time.

We value your business and regret this experience. Any portion of the payment which was funded with your credit card will be refunded directly to your credit card. Credits to a credit card generally take 2-3 business days to post, and may not be immediately reflected in the card's balance.
So basically, becuase the seller cleared the money out of his paypal account then didn't respond to them... they can do nothing and I don't get my money back?

Now maybe i'm wrong but this page Makes it seem like i'm protected if the guy doesn't ship, but when I file a claim they say that there is nothing in his account so they can't do anything?

WTF

Am I missing something?

If I claim through Ebay, there is a $25 deductable... and I bet they only cover the cost and not the shipping cost... which means I'll end up with $7 of the $41 USD I sent?

Uh any advice?
