The love triangle with Jean Gray, Cyclops and Wolvie isn't in the comics, but overall the movies did stay fairly close to the back story in the comics. The movies also skip the relationship between Nightcrawler and Mystique and reveal Jean's "Phoenix Effect" far earlier than the comics.
