SQOTD: Second Question of the Day by retiqlum22004-12-30 01:51:30
Vivian Calibre by VivianC 2004-12-30 10:50:34
I guess my nick could be considered old by most of the people here. It was given to me as a stage name for use with our heavy metal band back in 1986. (It may have been based on the character Vyvyan Basterd from The Young Ones which started airing in the US on MTV that year, but I had never heard of it until 1988. I'll have to ask the guy who gave it to me.)

Anyway, I wanted a unisex name (because my real name is Chris) and had seen that Vivian is also used as a male name in the UK. I have used the name as both male and female over the years. I have even had a girl I know stand in as Vivian a couple times many years ago. Viv has been used as a pen name for some of my writing and as a trap for junk mail and record club memberships. My family is in on the joke and Viv was even invited to attend my wedding (he declined). For someone who doesn't exist, s/he has had a long and exciting life.
