They're covering the events around that Asian earthquake, and were standing in the middle of the street filming, getting the way, etc. during an evacutation warning -- you know, all the usual shots of mothers dragging children along in a blind panic, with deadpan hyperbole which I can only assume must be something other than laughable to most viewers.
Then then go on to say that it was in error, and chastise the government for adding unnecessary anguish on these people.
Er, excuse me? Which of these is a better scenario?
1) The government get twitchy about warnings and give them when there's no current reason to evacuate. Someone's grandma has a heart attack while fleeing, and looters steal her false teeth.
2) The government get cautious about warnings and only give them when they're sure. Five minutes after a few thousand people are underwater, they announce that there may be a risk of light showers. |
