I had a friend who spent 99-01 flying all over the world firing people for his company when the bubble burst. Ultimately, he knew that the last person he'd be letting go was himself. It really made him weirded out and landed him in therapy. He hated it...when he would show up at an office people knew exactly what he was there for and would avoid him like the plague. Sorry to hear about your impending unemployment, I hope you find something soon.
