SQOTD: Second Question of the Day by retiqlum22004-12-30 01:51:30
  I've used tumppu since -97 or -96 by tumppu 2004-12-30 05:55:07
I started using in while playing Quake and QWTF.

The idea was to pick something that would reflect my poor skills (we are all newbies in the beginning) and which would be finnish. So I opted for a slang term "käsi" (eng. "hand") meaning someone who is bad at something and tends to mess things up. Unfortunately, QW didn't support scandic letters and "kasi" means something else, so thought for a synonym. For reasons which have eluded me ever since, I picked "tumppu" (eng. "glove" or "mitten").

And I've used it ever since.
