If the computer you use to install has the same chipset, processor doesn't matter so much, but the chipset does. I was able to exchange Hard drives with Windows XP on different computers with the Intel 440 Series chipsets, Pentium II and I, but when I upgraded my system, Windows froze when it was booting up, I had to re-install windows to get it to work (It was because of the different chipset, and the AGP controller it had, I couldn't even get into safe-mode)
