How do I make it stop? by oot2004-12-21 18:06:47

One thing that nobody else has said: drinking water (or some other beverage) also has the benefit that you have _something_ that you can throw up, which is better than trying in vain to turn your stomach inside out.

The best thing for it is to keep a big bottle of water and a bucket by your bed. Try to go to sleep. Every time you throw up, drink some more water. You can empty the bucket out in the morning.

As was already mentioned, carbonated beverages may also help. The last time I had something like that (three years ago, when I threw up every few minutes, regardless of whether there was anything there, and, after five or six hours of this, I found that the idea of living was scarier than the idea of dying), I found that just drinking water made it more bearable also because it wasn't as hot coming back up.

I also had a fever, so I'd take Atasol and try to keep that down as long as possible. If I threw it up, I'd take more, though that may be somewhat dangerous.
