The "rule", unwritten as it stands, is already somewhat self-enforcing, because it isn't so much a rule as a standard of conversation between the people on UF.
If a person comes on here with a statement that is too absurd for them to back up (or one that others simply know to be unsupported and/or incorrect), they just aren't going to be paid attention to (well, aside from possible ridicule). If they don't understand why, they'll quickly learn.
I'd rather have people just learn - or fail to learn and be ignored - the normal way [<ridiculous statement> <request for support> <failure to provide> <rebuke for being silly>] than have people shouting at each other for not reading the rules after somebody says something and then fails to back it up. |
