so you don't dry up and blow away. Seriously, you need to keep putting whatever mild / palatable water-based fluid into your body that your stomach won't immediately send back up. For me, sometimes that's flat ginger ale or cola, sometimes it's water with a small amount (<1/2 tsp per 8 oz glass) of salt and similar amount of baking soda dissolved in it. And (sorry, but it's true) sometimes it's the liquid left over after you've eaten the jar of kosher dill pickles (mostly salt water, with added spices).
