Well that was nice(shared firefox data w/ nix/win) by PsychoI3oy 2004-12-21 19:11:29
Well, that's one mozilla application down, one to go (or 2, do I want to deal with sunbird?). I got firefox in windows and firefox in 'nix to share history, bookmarks, cache, cookies, and form fill-ins. woo!

The procedure was thus: 1. Copy (more complete) firefox profile from linux homedir to temp dir on fat32 disk. Attempt to copy whole profile into documents & settings, but fail for file formatting difference. Delete windows profile, restart firefox so it creates a blank one, then put just the cache and cache.trash dirs in, along with bookmarks.html, cookies.txt, history.dat and formhistory.dat in the main profile directory. verify everything worked in windows and it did.
2. Reboot to linux. With a list of the copied files in hand (ok, emailed to myself) move the linux copies into a backup dir and create symlinks to the files in the windows profile (which were copied from 'nix anyway). Verify and post results on UF :)

Next task: Doing the same with Thunderbird so I can check my pop3 email from either OS without getting confused.
