You know how images are aliased? by MrTrick 2004-12-21 18:58:44
I.e: On an image that is technically black and white, zoom in and look at an edge - you find shades of grey there, done so that the image looks smoother.

I want to superimpose the logo in front of my background, so I need to turn the white background transparent first. I can't just by-color select the white background and delete it, because it would leave all these solid greys around the edge of the picture. Even if I go around the image at 800% and remove all the greys, I'll still be left with this very pixellated logo.

I guess I need to use the original black-white image as something like a mask to get a proper yellow-transparent image suitable for pasting over the background.
