It's just my opinion. And even I said that while always wrong, it may become a necessary evil in some situations...
As you quoted, it should be the LAST refuge - not one like Iraq, where the current US administration felt it was the most expeditious, despite the views of... well, of pretty much the entire civilized world. So expeditious they felt that lying was justified as a means to garner public support. And they wonder why they are considered uncivilized...
IMHO, The ends never "justify" the means. Even in those extreme situations where one may feel the necessity to act in a manner contrary to ones own beliefs. |
