Yet, something says to me that if any being has interest in survival, that it must still be a refuge, when all other reasonable courses of action and compromises have been rendered ineffective.
I'm not big on war and violence. Nobody should be.
But people who stick to blanket statements and refuse to budge or compromise, especially in extreme situations, are perilously close to engaging in the same zealotry that causes some wars.
I don't know where my line is. But I can't agree with your original statement about "ALWAYS". Not as an infallible inviolable rule.
