Christians Against the Republican Party by SnappingTurtle2004-12-21 10:30:00
  Hmmm . . . by mmell2004-12-21 10:52:03
Not quite. by hadji 2004-12-21 11:22:34
1. Jesus does not come before God as He Himself has said. Jesus, would infact, be irrelevant without God.

2. It is not the Christian faith that has engaged in idolatry. There is a difference between the Christian faith and those who claim to follow it. Also allegiance to Jesus is the same as allegiance to God as Jesus' only purpose is to teach the word of God and to bring us closer to God. He has no other agenda, therefore there is no discrepancy, therefore there is no conflict.

3. Again, there is a difference between the faith and the ones who claim to follow it.

4. Regarding the crusades, see point 3 above. Regarding missionaries, when they work within what is truly the Christian faith, they will do no harm.

5. Faith does not control. See point 3 above.

6. Faith does not engage in activities, nor does it alienate anyone. See point 3 above.

If you want to criticise what has been done by people who have claimed to be working in the name of Christianity, there is quite a bit to criticise, and I'll join you in that.

If you want to criticise the Christian faith, you will find that you have little, if any basis for that.

Love God.
Love your neighbor.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Forgive and forget.

When people are not working with these philosophies, they are not working within the Christian faith.
