Christianity asserts that as long as you repent of your sins you will be forgiven. So you can be a real scumball and STILL make it in. Thing is, a politician is not the most humble person. Their mental image of themselves tends to be that they can do no wrong, and that you are always right about everything- NOT an encouraging mindset in terms of making your peace with God. Bush CAN make it to heaven, but WILL he?
It's less about the specific sins you may have committed, and more about your willigness and ability to turn back from your path, admit you were wrong, and start over again. Bush, and most any other high-level politician on EITHER side, will probably have a difficult time of it.
Just remember- Hell is a nasty place/state to be in, and eternity is a long time. Don't damn someone lightly. |
