Seems to me that would cover a lot of hunting firearms already in
the field--ironically, especially lower-caliber units like we used
to use to dispatch "rogue" woodpeckers who had mistakenly decided
our house was a hollow tree, likely to contain lots of tasty bugs,
and wouldn't be disabused of their silly notion.
Oh, and they're lying out of their "whereas"es, regarding widespread
support of assault weapon bans amongst firearm owners--or at least,
those I know, who are principally collectors of military models
(generally historic ones no longer in use, but still military).
These poisonous fools definitely need to be stopped, because they
are obviously deluded enough to believe that a government elite
can be trusted to be the only ones with effective weapons. Guess
that absolute power doesn't corrupt, absolutely, in their pretty
little universe.
