If you think for an instant an AMI MegaRAID is going to pickup a Mylex or IBM ServeRAID array's disks... you're due for a reality check. Yeah - RAID levels are standard - implementations are not.

Your analogy of my position doesn't make any sense to me either. I can't even begin to fathom what you could possibly be getting at.

How many RAID cards have you dealt with? I've got just under 100 under my belt now, seen about 15% of them fail (tho, mostly negative reporting...) - So what's your assertion there? RAID cards don't fail? I don't see the point in that comment either. "FWIW": not much.
