Question.... by MrTrick2004-12-15 19:36:25
How what works? by funky_monkey2004-12-15 19:39:41
The buttons. by MrTrick 2004-12-15 19:46:53
I don't want to use individual pieces of plexi if I can help it - it makes construction much more difficult, and the dividers between each button would be tricky to make without interfering with the usability of the thing.

What I had in mind was just to mount a single sheet of plastic over the top of it (maybe heavy heavy duty plastic sheet, not perspex), and hope that there's enough [ distance between the sensors && flexibility in the plastic ] to be able to press each individual button properly.

Whether it works is dependent on the plastic I use, the height of the 'button' sensors in each region of the mat, and the distance that they travel when pressed. If the buttons are too high or the distance too far, it'll be much harder to make.

Grr.... want to play StepMania NOW!
