is that if your memory sucks, you can't get past that point in order to have the real meat & potatoes tested.

If you're spending all your time trying to remember what factors you're supposed to analyze, you'll never get the factors analyzed.

And what you get points for isn't the recitation of the factors, but the analysis of them.
