Gelatin in chilled coffee by SnappingTurtle 2004-12-15 11:01:24
Following the instructions on the box, I added two packets of gelatin to a batch of chilled coffee. Didn't work at all. In fact, most of the gelatin ended up on the bottom of the pot in whch I mixed the coffee and other ingredients.

Just to answer the inevitable questions, here's what I did:

  • put 1/4 cup cold water into a glass
  • let sit for 2 minutes
  • microwaved for 40 seconds
  • poured into pot of cool coffee while stirring
I concerned that if I put the gelatin in the hot coffee before running it through the Instant Chiller®, I'll gum up either the coffee pot of the Instant Chiller®.

Sheesh, I feel like this step shouldn't be so hard. How do I thicken up my chilled coffee???
