I was hired to setup a European Intranet. The technology chosen beforehand by the IT was crap. So happened what had to be: After 1,3 years struggling with bad tools and policies I was near to a nervous breakdown and the project was frozen up to further notice. Then finally I had the chance to set it up properly together with a skilled person from IT and within 2,4 months I rebuild the whole system. After that we were finally no longer dependent on external consultants, we had no further investments because we already owned the proper hardware and software and then.... .... there was the big day when the board decided about the future of the project... if the would say yes, everything could go on online at once... ... of course I wansn't allowed even near the meeting. Even my manager wasn't.... and nobody asked me beforhand either.... ...and of course nothing was decided. My contract wasn't prolonged and on Friday will be my last workday.
