Official "I'm sick of my job" thread by defiler2004-12-15 03:43:41
Not so much sick, don't care is more like it by vmax 2004-12-15 06:44:40
As a freelance I'm used to the internals being affraid of the external making them look bad by doing their job in 1/10th of the time but I've always kept it cool and it has never really bothered me in doing my job these last 10 years.

But on this project this one girl is really bugging me, she's supposed to be a developer/dba but wouldn't know a primary or foreign key from a door key. Getting her to implement a change requires hours of explaining and in the end downright begging to just do it and trust me.
She accuses me of keeping her out of the loop so it's come so far that every email is cc'ed to the big chief, on the other hand she goes and changes the permissions on my login without my knowledge (and then I have to ask the big chief what the admin password is so I can get my work done)

Why did I accept the contract extention two weeks ago while I had other offers? Am I becomming complacent, I've been here 2 years already, that's not like me, before that I'd do contracts for a max of 6 months, but then again the market has changed a bit since then, and they pay pretty good.

Good luck on your quest and remember it's only work.
