What my church taught, fits those verses (and depending on the version of the bible) as much as your version does. Your being compleatly closed minded and saying "Its not how I see it so its wrong" rather then "I don't take it that way, but I can see ho some would". Just becuase YOU don't interpret something some way doesn't mean that thousands or millions of christians don't.
Denominations were brought into it becuase different denominations take differnet meaning from the same text, and get a difference inference from the same words (or different versions of the translated words)
I don't see how you can say my accusation is baseless, when your using things I didn't say, to back up your calling it baseless.
and once again I end this with, it has nothing to do with what 'my church' feels, it has to do with what they were taught by the bible, which is different then what others were taught from the bible.
Have you ever been to another denominations services? You'll notice a huge, huge, huge different from Amish, to Penocostal, to Catholic, to Menonite, to Baptist.
They are all Christians, but they all take different meanings from the same bible, partly becuase of different translations, partly just becuase of there history.
To say that your way is the only way the bible can be interpreted is plain ignorant, and just looking aronud at the world of christianity should prove you wrong. |
