(checks DaNutBall's diary) Ah yessss, born about the time (or only shortly before) hard drives became generally available for PCs. Doesn't recall a time when nonvolatile ROM contained only the minimum intelligence to read the OS off a system floppy, and if data wasn't explicitly saved to a floppy it vapourized at power down. Has never downloaded a utility to park a hard drive to protect it from shock. Almost certainly has never heard of a bootstrap loader. Blissful youth :-)
