incarcerated for non-violent and victimless "crimes" that could be productive members of society otherwise. Prison should only be a place to restrict people who are a danger to society rather than a place for people like Martha Stewart. Make the non-violent offenders pay hefty fines. Strike the victimless crimes off the books. Society could stand to wise up in this regard. When punitive measures are taken for piddly reasons, it demeans the whole aspect of punishment.
