| ONLY IF the judicial system could somehow magically be made infallible would the death penalty even be worthy of consideration IMHO. Note that I say "consideration", because even in the impossible case that the judicial system were infallible, I would maintain my moral objections to the death penalty.
Since the system, being made by the hand and eye of man must be fallible, the death penalty should be considered "unthinkable", since even one mistake would be a murder of which all members of society must consider themselves equally guilty. |
