| We (my family) have these ancient strings of lights, they've been hanging out in the attic since before I remember. We also have a lot of newer strings, too. They always get strung up all over the place, on the tree (though ours is made of plastic) hanging from the gutter, on the bushes outside, in the windows, in our rooms, on the roof, you name it. My dad runs them from an old multi plug extension cord out to the porch. Usually we just plug them in when it gets dark, and turn them off when it gets light. Never had any problems. Each bulb gets warm enough to melt a little cave in the snow but that's it. Then again, it might be a different story if you don't get snow. *shrug* |
