Unless, of course, it's installed on the HD and bootable from the
NTLOADER menu.
Possibly a user registry problem. Quick fix is to move (reanme)
the user's profile directory, and let 'doze rebuild it, clean. It
may then be possible to copy selected keys from the old registry
hives, either using REG LOAD, REG COPY, etc, or by loading the
old hive in the GUI registry editor, and doing exports/imports.
If it's the system registry, OTOH, life just got harder. Haven't
had to deal with one of those, so can't give good advice.
