Your right about boxingday by MikeCDN 2004-12-14 10:32:08
It depends on the provice if its taken off or not. It isn't official here, but a good portion of buisnesses treat it as a statutory holiday. Even in past years it was treated as a stat here, even though its not really one.

and its generally the same about days off, If its a sat friday, if its a sun Monday.

But then why is Saturday January 1st, being pushed to Monday January 3rd?

Were not being given the holiday that would give us the Monday off, and the Holiday that would give us the next Friday off, is being pushed to the Monday.

Under normal circumstances we'd have the Monday and Friday off, and only have 3 days, and if the company wanted to be nice we'd be given the option of pushing the Christmas into that week, giving 2 work days, which we could then use as holiday.

But no, were being forced to have all 5, which means if we want to take them up we have to use 5 holiday days.

It's pretty much like were being forced to work rather then taking the week off by the way the holidays are being positioned, so we won't take holidays. It would be one thing to take 2 or 3 days off, but 5 seems like a bit much, then we have 9 days off in a row which would seem drastic.
