Ake Green was not sentenced to one month in prison for just "reading the Bible," but for preaching that homosexuality is "abnormal, a horrible cancerous tumor in the body of society" and that homosexuals are "perverts, whose sexual drive the Devil has used as his strongest weapon against God." And Canada's law has a specific exemption for speech motivated by religion, religious opinion, or religious texts.
