Although batch file language may (hopefully soon) be supplanted by something with a little more power. Like Perl. That's what I want to see in Longhorn -- OS-level perl interpretation. ... on second thought, after considering MS JVM, maybe I DON'T want to see Microsoft's implementation of Perl. Microsoft still makes moderate to heavy internal use of batch files, as do all the Windows-based IT departments I've worked in.
