which, of course, is not at all common :-) Quack medicine, especially that which blatantly defies the scientific medical principles which have resulted in a near doubling of the average life span in little more than a century, is dismayingly common. I am continually amazed at the reverence so many people show for old/ancient medical principles that have no basis in scientific fact. I was at a party last month where some savant was going on and on about balancing the four humours. I just toddled off with my bevvy to another room. In some cases, the level of density is simply impenetrable.
