What has been your most arcane technical skill? by run.dll 2004-12-12 16:22:03
For instance, I was a lab TA for a third year digital circuits lab years ago, much of which involved low level programming of 8080 family microprocessors. (For you kiddies out there, this was followed (roughly speaking) by the 8086, 80286 80386, 80486, pentium ... - you can take it from there, you are probably using a successor right now). After two years of this, I could programme one of those little buggers right off a hex pad from the top of my head if the algorithm wasn't too complex.
Programming in hex ... assembler is for the weak
