Open control pannel, click tools, click folder options, and click view. Now in there you should be able to change somethings such as hidden files. Now go up to the menu for whatever your looking at(say filemanager) click view. Click details and then under tools go back to that settings thing again and tell it to save that folders properties and remember them.
