with "state retention". For advanced applications, it is a number of things - responsiveness, for example - you don't want to round-trip every two seconds. Then there is graphics, access to hardware, anything you can name. Many people are trying to make the web do things it was never designed for, with varying success.

BTW, I wasn't trying to suggest your company had chosen the -right- browser ;-)
