And partly due to my own frustrations (and I normally use IE).

Just to be fair, my first target is going to be Microsoft, for the way the MSDN site works on Pocket Explorer.

In a corporate environment, I see no problem with mandating a particular browser. Quite simply, it is cheaper.

And unfortunately, there are very many things that the common gateway interface can't cope with. We just need a standard "smart client" model. Java and Flash have made pathetic attempts so far, but at least are available for just about every browser. We won't talk about ActiveX. .NET is a good idea, but has teething troubles of its own, and is anything BUT cross-browser.
