higher level languages. When processor speed is increasing so fast, C#'s performance shouldn't be an issue. (It generally has 95-98% of the speed of C++ apps; users won't notice that difference.) What really matters are the stability and the cost to create the software. Users really notice bugs, and faster development allows more testing/improvements or more products.
