The quality of a man's education is the result of his efforts, but he can do no better than what the available material permits. A student at a lower level school just doesn't have access to some of the resources (libraries, labs, etc.) found in a top notch school. A graduate of a lower tier school is also going to have a harder time networking with top level individuals in thier desired field.

P.S. this is my first post ever, but I've been reading UF for a good long while.
