Every movie version of a stage show is crap. It makes people think "the movie sucked, why would I want to see it on stage?" I saw The Music Man on Broadway in 2001 and loved it. Saw the movie version Disney put out and it was crap. I also saw The Phantom of the Opera while there and also loved it. I guarantee you the movie will not be anywhere near as good. Some productions should never be seen in a cienema and only on stage, The Phantom of the Opera is one of them.
