What a great idea.

(Actually, this applies to anybody that uses the Atheros chipset -- D-Link, Netgear, and probably some others. I can't comment on the actual range with anything other than Orinoco/Proxim gear, though, since I haven't used any wireless stuff except at work.)

It just seems like doing everything in the driver isn't a great idea, even though you can add new features with a driver upgrade. If, that is, D-Link has *created* a newer driver for your card.
