Are you using gcc or Visual C++? I ask because my undergrad used Visual C++, but only spent one week on the MFC; everything else was done with console. If you ask me, this is rather absurd when using the windows platform. If you have to use Visual C++, when are you doing MFC, and how long are they taking with it? (If you happen to know...)

I supposed part of the reason is that they want the students the learn programming concepts, not drawing with MFC, but still.
