It's my roommates router and the cable internet is in his name though I pay 1/2 of it. So he controls it and he wants it's firewall(particularly as he bought a laptop with wireless hence why it's a wireless router). He's quite insistent my hub will have to go into it and stuff. It comes with dhcp and vnc. So I'm expected to use it's dhcp. In windows that means as far as I'm aware I don't need to change a thing. However in linux it will mean I'll need to change the stuff listed in resolv.conf I have no idea what a WPA_PSK is nor mac filtering. I do have a clue what a mac addy is from looking at my linux logs before. Beyond that I have no clue as I haven't needed to. All I know is I want my linux to work and I do not want people sniffing my connection which means my firewall(in linux and windows and my sons firewall on his box) stay up despite the router having it's thing. Being wireless leaves it wide open and I'm not going to be happy if certain UDP/TCP are locked when I use IM, ftp, ssh, and voip.
