I agree with you 100%. I don't even know where the key to my house is - I never lock the door. I also never have had anything stolen from it. I chose my neighbourhood carefully, and have never regretted it. The 45 minute commute is not a bad trade-off for having this kind of peace and quiet.

I would actually consider the potential cost of a breakin cheap compared to the peace of mind I have in not worrying about it. And I firmly believe that the greatest security lies in not displaying anything that would be a tempting target.

Who needs to be a show-off anyways?
